SAP Advanced Planning and Optimization (SAP APO)
A set of fully integrated functions are used to plan and execute supply chain processes in SAP Advanced Planning and Optimization (SAP APO). Supports following:

• Optimization and evaluation of the supply chain network's efficiency
• Business collaboration on a strategic, tactical, and operational planning level
• Co-operation between partners at all stages of the supply chain process; from order receipt, stock monitoring, through final shipping of the product
• Cultivation of customer and business partner relationships

APO DEMAND PLANNING
APO Demand Planning (DP) is used to create the forecast of the demand for products of a company.
While creating the demand plan as the result, many different factors that affect forecast are taken into consideration. Companies use Demand Planning tool to support their demand planning processes in a strong and flexible way. Many different statistical forecasting and advanced macro techniques are used with adding marketing intelligence like management adjustments, promotions and forecast overrides.

APO Suply Network Planning (SNP)

APO Supply Network Planning (SNP) integrates decisions of purchasing, manufacturing, distribution, and transportation processes. As a result, a single global model is created so that comprehensive tactical planning and sourcing decisions can be simulated and implemented. Advanced optimization techniques are used while considering constraints and penalties, to plan product flow along the supply chain. The result of Supply Network Planning is optimal purchasing, production, and distribution decisions; reduced inventory levels and order fulfillment times; and improved customer service.

SCM- APO- GATP (Global Available-to-Promise)

APO GATP provides the information needed while making decisions about supply chain processes. ATP check tool (Available-to-Promise) provides information to be sure that the requested product can be covered on time and at the requested quantity. As a result confirmation of the demand may be determined. CTP (Capable-to-Promise) and multilevel ATP check functions interact with PP/DS so that, can change the production plan and arrange resource usage for the confirmation of a demand.

APO Production Planning and Detailed Scheduling

Production Planing and Detailed Scheduling is used to create procurement proposals for in-house productions or external procurements to cover product requirements and to optimize and plan resources and order dates in a detailed way. The result of PPDS is reduced lead times, increased on-time delivery performance and reduced stock costs through better coordination of resources, production, and procurement.

APO Transportation Planning / Vehicle Scheduling

Transportation Planning and Vehicle Scheduling has mainly two components in which, Transportation Planning is concerned with middle and long term planning while Vehicle Scheduling focuses on short term planning and leg determination.
Main goal of this function is enabling optimal use of the capacity of vehicles like trucks, trains, ships and airplanes. With optimal usage, planning and loading processes become more efficient and costs are lowered.

SNC

Supply Network Collaboration (SAP SNC)

One of the core capabilities of Adaptive Supply Chain Networks, a fundamental principle for the networked and outsourced enterprise of today and tomorrow. Through SNC, customers and suppliers can simultaneously eliminate inefficiencies in their supply chains by synchronizing the flow of information between them. SNC offers a 360 degree view on supply chain collaboration, offering a company ways to effectively collaborate with its customers, suppliers, 3 rd party logistics providers and outsourced manufacturing partners. On the supplier collaboration side, SNC offers upstream business processes like Supplier Managed Inventory, discrete purchase order management, scheduling agreement release handling and web-based kanban signals. For customer collaboration, SNC offers comprehensive downstream business processes like responsive replenishment which represents the next generation in demand driven replenishment and collaboration. SNC also offers market leading capabilities for collaborating and monitoring contract manufacturing relationships. For outsourced manufacturing, the main capabilities include cross-tier visibility of inventory, supply and demand and a collaborative work order process that track work-in-progress, material consumption and BOM changes at the outsourced manufacturing partner. SNC is based on the SAP SNC application, formerly known as SAP ICH (Inventory Collaboration Hub).
